This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. You’ve likely heard of Rosie the Riveter, but do you know about Washington’s Government Girls? Almost a quarter of a million adventurous young women thronged the nation’s capital to join America’s war effort. Dr. Cindy Gueli will discuss the captivating, surprising, and often moving first-person stories she collected for Lipstick Brigade, her book detailing how these incredible women triumphed over the challenges and chaos of war.
